My name is Fern Rodrigues, I’m a nutritionist who specialises in challenging eating (aka fussy eating), and my mission is to guide and reassure parents and early education professionals to take control of their children’s nutrition with confidence. My approach is holistic, considering science, public health guidelines, family cultural background and ethical values, household/service routine, child’s preferences and needs.
To make sure I can recommend you the most effective strategies to tackle your children’s nutrition I keep up with the latest research on feeding from literature and from participating in seminars on an almost weekly basis. Yes, I am a nutrition nerd!!
I worked in food industries for more than thirty years, since I was 16 years old. I worked in the food additives industry for more than two decades which gave me large experience as a recipe developer and as a food taster. I can answer all your questions about packaged foods, food labels, health claims, how foods are manufactured etc. Also come up with recipes that are simple and affordable, yet delicious and nutritious.
I also have 8 years’ experience in early years education. I have a formal understanding of children’s development in all domains (cognitive, emotional, physical, language and social). So, even though I don’t know your child as well as you do, I can predict how they’re going to behave when you implement my recommendations. This way, I can make sure we do it as smoothly as possible. Because, you’re tired of drama, right? Being an insider of the early education sector also shapes how our professional development workshops are designed and conducted so educators can take the best advice and learn strategies that will work.

I’m a Bachelor of Food & Nutrition, and also have formal qualifications in chemistry, food technology and early childhood education.
